Planning departments have struggled over a number of years to adopt appropriate practices to cater for the development plan system changes in Section 54A. Local planning activity professional practices should be assessed and improved using agreed targets and effective project management. Planning departments look forward to the publication of the Department of the Environment's assessment of the development plan system.

Gyrocompassing on a Moving Land Vehicle

Article Abstract:

A scheme is presented of continuous gyrocompassing of an inertial measurement unit (IMU), aided by an odometer, on a moving land vehicle. Kalman filtering is employed to realize the aiding function. Feasibility of the concept is demonstrated by the result.
