Clarifying filtration terminology

Article Abstract:

Cross-flow filtration involves the bulk of liquid flowing through a narrow channel across the surface of the filter, while in tangential-flow filtration the liquid flow is directed tangentially to and through the filter. Diafiltration uses an ultrafiltration process that separates small molecules and larger molecules in solution. Other filtration terminologies such as microfiltration and direct flow filtration are also defined.
