Commercializing chiral catalysts quicker

Article Abstract:

Dow Chemical Co's Contract Manufacturing Services has partnered with scientists at the Center for Applied Catalysis at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, to find ways to speed the commercialization of solid- supported homegenous chiral catalysts. They also aim to improve the efficiency an economics for the production of chiral pharmaceuticals and fine chemical intermediates and products.

Removing contaminants from spent catalysts

Article Abstract:

The methods for sampling procedure that is employed by refiners to evaluate the remaining precious metal content of large lots of used catalyst materials are presented. The methods for removing contaminants from spent catalysts are also presented.

Mesoporous silicas--a means to more-selective catalysts

Ames Laboratory will conduct research on the development of highly selective single-site mesoporous catalysts. These catalysts will feature adjustable surface morphology and properties that will change the scope of practical applications.
