Emerson Motors has started offering Epact and Premium Efficient motors, cooling tower duty motors that are designed for long-life and low motor maintenance. Major features of the motors include double-seated bearings, potted leads, bearing caps on 280 frame and above and a heavy gasketed conduit box. In addition, the motors utilize a Quantum Shield inverter wire as a measure against voltage spikes.

Paddle's motor shut-off feature prevents motor burnout

Monitor Technologies has introduced a a motor that autonmatically shuts off when the paddle is impeded. The unit only returns to normal operation when the material level drops and the paddle is free from obstruction. Several models of the motor are available, including a high-temperature model for temperatures up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit, an explosion-proof model, and a fail-safe model.
