Discount calling

Article Abstract:

UK businesses can now benefit from a number of attractive telecommunications deals, but many fail to use these deals to maximum advantage. British Telecommunications is offering a number of discount schemes, including Friends & Family, Call & Save and Option 15. Indirect access operators have been most competitive on national calls, but are now seeking local business too. With companies such as Telecom Plus and First Telecom, savings are generally 30% off British Telecommunications' standard rates. It is possible to mix and match operators to obtain the best, customized deals.

Calling all contractors

Article Abstract:

UK electrical engineers are ideally placed to enter the telephone wiring market after the industry was privatized by the government in December 1986. Private telephone wiring work may be carried out by an electrical contractor, although public systems are still under the jurisdiction of official network electricians in 1998. A guide for private system telephone wiring has been produced to help electricians develop extra wiring skills.
