Innovativeness: redefining the concept

Article Abstract:

Various measures of innovativeness have been used for research purposes. Among these measures that aim to identify innovative firms is the time of innovation adoption, which is a unidimensional measure. A multidimensional measure of innovativeness, however, is being proposed as a valid measure of innovativeness. Focus must be given to the number of innovations created, their time of creation, and the consistency in their time of creation.
