Article Abstract:

The provisions of the 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, or BS 7671, for testing and inspection of electrical installations come into force in 1993. Electricians should be aware of the changes in the regulations covering basic testing and tests for specific types of installation. Basic tests must include insulation resistance, polarity and loop impedance and testing of rcds when fitted. Test instruments must conform with the new regulations.
