Doing the genome thing

Article Abstract:

Both the periodical 'Science' and the periodical 'Nature' published a special issue on the human genome sequencing data. Inordinate attention was given to Celera Genomics in the very large 'Science' issue. Celera and 'Science' have agreed to reveal terms of the agreement they have made. Accessibility to data is the center of a controversy. The special issue was published simultaneously with the annual meeting of the parent organization, the American Assoc.for the advancement of Science. The Nature issue reports the sequencing report of hte consortium of publicly funded laboratories led by Francis Collins of the National Institutes of Health.

Physics for chemists

Article Abstract:

Chemists deal with physics, but frequently with reluctance. For one chemist finding a Web page called HyperPhysics, http://hyperphysics.phy-astr-gsu.edu/hphy.html, was good luck, although it came too late to help him edit an article.
