She's electric...

Article Abstract:

The engineering and construction industries in the United Kingdom remain dominated by men and only 14% of engineering students at university are women. Women should be employed in the electrical and construction industries as many have high academic abilities and therefore can make an important contribution to these industries. Girls need to be encouraged from an early age to study subjects which could lead a career in engineering. Some initiatives from industry organisations have focused on schoolgirls yet in some areas of the industry, male prejudices against women persist.
