Emissions trading on the world stage

Article Abstract:

Emissions trading programs are starting to step into the limelight, wherein economic incentives are given to achieve emission reductions. The release of certain pollutants is capped according to set goals, such as in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in the 1997 Kyoto protocol. The scope of these programs are discussed.

EPA is revising the construction general permit

Article Abstract:

The EPA plans to change the rules for permits to disturb five or more acres. Meanwhile construction companies should file the existing Notice of Intent which gives the agency information including site location and possible environmental impact. The new permit is expected to cover sites of one acre or more.
