Employee attitudes toward new technology in a unionized manufacturing plant

Article Abstract:

The most important elements that influence how employees view technological change within organizations are formal advance notices of new technology, pre-existing job and power structure differences during the implementation of the changes, and work environment. Employee attitudes toward new technology in the workplace are more strongly affected by organizational rather than technical factors as commonly thought. Labor unions, contrary to popular belief, view technological change positively, and can be a contributing factor to the facilitation of change within the firm.

An object-oriented multitasking control environment for multirobot system programming and execution with 3D graphic simulation

Article Abstract:

An object-oriented distributed control environment for multirobot system programming and execution that can be used in the robot-based workcell was created towards the realization of human-friendly, advanced robot system control software. The proposed object-oriented multitasking control environment was shown to be effective for robotic tasks in vision-based robot positioning and pick and place operations for exchange of a workpiece.

Pre-implementation attitudes toward the introduction of robots in a unionized environment

Article Abstract:

The introduction of robots in manufacturing organizations is one way to maintain competitiveness.
