Enclosure testing upgraded

Article Abstract:

Benton Harbor, MI-base appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corp. bought IOtech Inc.'s ChartScan/1400 to upgrade its enclosure testing process for its cooking appliances. Enclosure testing is needed to ensure that cooking appliances will heat uniformly without subjecting wood surfaces to excessive temperatures. The use of the ChartScan has reduced the time needed by the company to gather and enter data by at least 25% vis-a-vis the previous methods used. Whirlpool is thinking of using the instrument for its Tulsa Div., which makes freestanding ranges, after its outstanding performance.
