Estimating loss of productivity claims: providing proper documentation

Article Abstract:

Among the most difficult problems posed by construction claims are the cost analysis and the calculation and proving of damages for loss of productivity. The difficulty lies in the fact that loss calculation is more a matter of judgment than accurate accounting. The main methods used for estimating loss of productivity are the total cost, the modified total cost, the comparison of actual productivity levels and productivity factors. The crucial element lies not in the method that is chosen but rather in the level of documentation.
