Exploring why more communication is not better: insights from a computational model of cross - functional teams

The communication activities of cross - functional new product teams is studied using the computational model. The simulation confirms the curvilinear relation between communication and performance in cross - functional new product teams and gives an insight into the reasons for the relation.

The social network analysis of project managers, successful in technologically innovative projects is studied, in the R&D lab of a Fortune 500 company. It was concluded that stronger the social network ties, stronger were the chances of the success of the project.
