Fuzzy production planning model for fresh tomato packing

Article Abstract:

Two production planning methods can be used as frameworks for tomato packing, including a fuzzy programming model and a linear programming (LP) model. The fuzzy set theory is used to address issues of uncertainty as a result of perception. Those uncertain elements include tomato packing rate, shortage cost and harvest time. The cost that resulted from the linear programming model is higher than the cost obtained through the fuzzy model. General satisfaction maximization is the primary function of the fuzzy model while the LP stresses on cost minimization.

Lot-sizing rules and freezing the master production schedule in material requirements planning systems

Article Abstract:

The performance of material requirements planning (MRP) systems appears to be affected by the selection of the master production schedule (MPS) freezing parameters and the selection of lot sizing rule. The analysis of variance also shows that the selection of MPS freezing parameters is also reliably affected by the selection of lot sizing rules. The total cost and instability of schedule of MRP systems are also significantly affected by the selection of the lot sizing rule.
