GRAFTEK Introduces the Comet

Article Abstract:

Graphics Technology Corporation (GRAFTEX) has announced a new CAD-CAM system, the Comet. The Comet has a 32-bit CPU, with a one megabyte main memory. Included are a 16-color workstation, Geometric Modeling Software, and a 160 megabyte Winchester disk drive. Also available are a line printer, plotter, black and white and color hardcopy units, additional memorty and storage devices and a variety of applications software. GRAFTEX has been first in many graphics innovations, including installing a 32-bit turnkey CAD-CAM system, introducing voice input in CAD-CAM systems, offering a relational data base management system for CAD-CAM applications.

Symbolics Introduces Lower Cost, Higher Performance Intelligent Computer System

Article Abstract:

Symbolics, Inc. is introducing its 3600 computer, a workstation especially suited to CAD and artificial intelligence applications. The system consists of a processor with a 36-bit architecture and 32-bit data paths; 2.3 M-bytes of MOS memory; an 1100x800 bit-mapped graphics display with 88-key keyboard, mouse, and programmable audio input; and a 169M-byte Winchester disk drive. The 3600 primarily uses ZETALISP language, but also supports FLAVORS, FORTRAN-77, C, PASCAL, and INTERLISP. The Symbolics 3600 also features a 10 megabit per second network capability. A photograph of the system is included.

Calma Introduces TEGAStation for Circuit Design Analysis and Simulation

Article Abstract:

TEGAStation has been introduced by Calma Company. The engineering workstation is a turnkey system for circuit design and simulation. Several software packages available support interactive graphics, file management, and other functions. There are two models; prices start at $50,800. A photograph of the system is included.
