A US-devised machine guarding system is developed that uses optical fibre that makes installing and maintaining such systems easy, while offering Category 4 protection and suitability to be used in hazardous zones. The installation can be done by pushing the cut, low cost, plastic optical fibre into a connector and secured by a quick posh down on a tab.
