How slow can you go?

Article Abstract:

A survey has revealed that British workers on electrical and mechanical installation contract sites have lower productivity than their counterparts in Sweden, Germany and the US. The Building Services Research and Information Association survey showed that the overall task productivity rate for British workers was 56% of the best practice possible, compared to 79% for Swedish workers. A range of factors could contribute to the low British productivity including poor control of timekeeping and the extensive British use of self-employed labour, which results in lower project loyalty.
