How to design a remote power system

Article Abstract:

Guidelines for creating own independent electric power-plant from solar, wind, or water-power, avoiding expensive errors and relatively surely. Plan backwards, pare requirements to reasonable minimum, ascertain daily and peak needs, use batteries, observe voltage law, and use rules of thumb.

A French flair for solar design: the French want to cut energy use in new buildings in half by 1985

Article Abstract:

A Nandy-area solar-housing demonstration project 20 miles south of Paris organized by French Housing Ministry is described. The 20 homes are the first step of a 5,000-house plan, which initially began as an architectural contest.
