Implementing the ISO 9000 standards in Belgium

Article Abstract:

A survey of 290 Belgian organizations that have implemented ISO 9000 shows that almost 30% of these companies are involved in the chemical sector. More service sector companies are increasingly implementing the standard. Technologically advanced companies are the most satisfied and have implemented total quality management techniques. Most companies implement ISO 9000 to enhance their internal organization. A well-organized procedural system decreases implementation time and costs. The biggest obstacle in ISO 9000 implementation is interdepartmental relations.
