Instrumentation and control: a smart approach to safety

Article Abstract:

Safety instrumented systems (SIS) for plant operation and design, developed by Emerson Process Management, Austin, Texas, are presented. The new components comply with the latest IEC 61511 standards and include the Delta V Safety System, a logic solver component that links the sensor with the final control element.
