Intranet eases quality-manual headaches

Article Abstract:

Liquid Control Corp was able to better maintain its quality manuals by converting the manuals into HTML format and having them available on an Intranet. Benefits of HTML format conversion include revision time savings of 75%, ease of documentation search, fewer resources and less file storage requirements and ease of creating work instructions. Initial conversion took a lot of effort in the part of the quality control manager but the payoffs more than compensates for the efforts.

Quality Expo teaches new technologies

Quality Expo is the world's largest trade show on the latest manufacturing trends. The 16th annual Quality Expo, to be held from Apr. 23-25, 1996 at the Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont, IL., will consist of seminars and workshops. Participants will learn techniques for conducting a benchmark study, applying image analysis, the basics of gaging and understand the importance of teams.

Automated quality system saves time and money

Article Abstract:

Sulzer Metco was able to automate its quality control system while providing real-tome data to its global business units through the implementation of a DBQ automated quality management system. The system basically allows the company to distribute quality control specs and information through the Internet and has translated to significant cost and productivity gains for the company.
