Keeping current: Baldrige recipient faces controversy

Article Abstract:

The views of American health care providers, on the ethical aspects of the nomination of the group purchasing organization Premier Inc. for the Malcolm Baldrige national q uality Award, are presented. The ethical aspects of the business practices of Premier Inc. are discussed, along with the position held by the company's chief excutive officer in the awards committee.

130 attend healthcare forum, hear Dr. Martin Merry

An estimated 130 healthcare administrators, clinicians, quality professionals and academics attended an ASO forum on healthcare quality in late 2002 in Milwaukee. Martin Merry, a medical doctor and associate professor of health management and policy at the University of New Hampshire, was the principal speaker.

Study shows electronic medical records adopted

According to the findings of a study, conducted by the Health Affairs journal, computerized medical records are being taken up at a slower rate, despite having several advantages. The details of other findings of the study are also presented.
