Managers make training stick

Article Abstract:

Managers must realize that their input plays a critical part in making employee training programs work. Training programs will not be utilized in the actual workplace unless employees are taught how to use the skills learned. Managers should meet with their subordinates and explain the relevance of training to actual work. During training, employees should not be distracted with other details which may impede learning. Managers should then stimulate employees to use their newly acquired skills after the training.
