Put quarter-turn valves to work for you

Article Abstract:

Quarter-turn valve designs have greatly evolved through the years to meet demands for better flow and control performances. The common types are ball, butterfly and plug valves, but each of these categories includes a variety of designs. There are also several specialized quarter-turn valves, including wedge-plug, hardfaced and orbit valves. Chemical engineers must know the characteristics of each type of these quarter-turn valves to be able to make an optimal choice.

Control valves selection

Article Abstract:

One of the fastest changing areas of the control loop is the final element, which is usually a control valve. The point of measurement has typically occupied the attention of the chemical engineer with little attention to the valve. This article illustrates the importance of this previously neglected element.
