The virtual factory approach to quality education

Article Abstract:

Not all companies have the necessary experience with ISO 9000 and QS-9000 standards, and few have the spare time and money to put into prolonged learning processes. The American Society for Quality (ASQ) has introduced a virtual factory as part of a course, which simulates the behaviour of a real factory, although at an accelerated paced. Graduate business programs often use games whereby future managers can allocate resources and see immediately the results of their actions.
