StatSoft has launched the version 6 of its STATISTICA data analysis and visulaization software. It offers a built-in Visual Basic scripting language that allows novices to easily record logs of anaylses to automate routine tasks and allow programmers to develop custom applications. The software also has enhanced web-enabled applications that allow users to not only publish their output on the Web, but also instruct STATISTICA, through their borwser, to perform specified analysis and displya their ouput.

CFX-ProMixus
Article Abstract:
AEA Technology Engineering Software has released an enhanced version of its CFX-ProMixus software. With this new version, users can perform automatic analysis of tanks with retreat cvurve impellers common in many fine chemicals batch reactors, or tanks with a bottom type based on the standard ASME section VIII similar to BS 5500. The software can also be used to analyze vessels with the impeller loacted within the dished bottom of the tank, which is widespread for batch reactors mixing organic liquids.
