Strong support for regional government in England

Article Abstract:

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) supports regional government in England, according to Craig McLaren, planning policy officer. In a response to the Constitution Unit's Regional government in England consultation, McLaren calls for a more coordinated regional government, in order to improve transportation planning, land use, economic development, and relations with Europe.

Achieving sustainable development

Article Abstract:

Sustainable development can be achieved by making use of derelict and unoccupied land. Lanarkshire Development Agency is looking into regeneration suggestions for the Ravenscraig steelworks in Scotland. Neighbouring communities will expand into the 350 acre development area at the site.
