Specialty gas paces online trading

Article Abstract:

ChemConnect Inc introduced industrial gas trading on the World Chemical Exchange in mid-2000, after the firm's acquisition of the Industrial Gas Exchange. As of Jan 2001, the company reports that nitrogen trifluoride, a relatively new compound used in semiconductor manufacturing, has been the most actively traded gas, with over 16,000 pounds sold. There are also transactions for sulfur hexafluoride, krypton, helium and carbon dioxide.
