Students Fly Space Shuttle with an Atari VCS

Article Abstract:

Grade school students have flown a simulation of the NASA space-shuttle from liftoff, to orbit, to satellite rendezvous, reentry, and California landing on an Atari 2600 Video Computer System. The shuttle mission was designed by Steve Kitchen of Activision Inc. after research at NASA. A screen display shows the layout of the simulator. The project was designed to educate students about the space program.
