TQM: the only source of sustainable competitive advantage

Article Abstract:

Total quality management (TQM) is the only method by which companies can gain and maintain competitive advantage. Pankaj Ghemawat, for one, has suggested other ways - size, access to resources and customers, restrictions on competitors - but these result from advantage rather than conferring it. TQM confers a long lead time, as Detroit has found with dismay. It pervades the most successful US companies. It multiplies other advantages a company has.

Quality Management Benchmark Assessment

Article Abstract:

The book Quality Management Benchmark Assessment (QMBA) is a series of checklists of requirements to help a business attain ever-increasing performance standards. It provides directions for a quality system with the main aim of customer satisfaction. Every department in an organization is considered as a supplier and a customer. Quality improvement in an organization is the difference between the existing and the higher level of performance.
