Article Abstract:

London's Bankside Power Station with its 99 mt tall chimney has been converted into the Tate Gallery of Modern Art. The 11,000 sq mt building has presented some unusual installation problems for electrical contractor T. Clark and mechanical contractor Sulzer Infra, including installing equipment in the large turbine halls. Some 10,000 mt of cable tray have been installed on the project, with electricity supply for the cables coming from two 2.8 MVA transformers. The new Tate also has room for a conference auditorium, an education centre and gift shops.
