Technology is here - are you ready?

Article Abstract:

There is an advent of new technologies in the field of civil engineering. These advances' benefits are most felt in the communications, education and in the practice of engineering itself. Devices such as the hand-held organizer, voice processors and teleconferencing and video-conferencing systems increase information transfer effectiveness at a minimal cost. Satellite transmission, video degree programs and video training tapes provide more opportunities to a wider audience. Advance computer capacities lessen the engineers' work burden as it gives them more opportunities for creativity.
