The Baldie play

Article Abstract:

The share prices of most companies which have received the Baldridge National Quality Award for themselves or for one of their divisions have increased considerably after the award, suggesting that quality is related to financial performance. A 1991 General Accounting Office study of 20 companies assessed for the Baldridge award in 1988 and 1989 shows the significant increase in the market share, sales per employee and return on assets of a majority of these companies.
