The Big Five personality factors and team performance: implications for selecting successful product design teams

Article Abstract:

Personality plays a crucial role in determining the success of product development processes, particularly in the evaluation of team performance efficiency. Results obtained from the analysis of an engineering product design task suggest that team members who possess high level of conscientiousness manifested increased task performance, while those with minimum composite level of extraversion are highly successful in managing product design processes. However, it was shown that openness to experience insignificantly influences team efficiency.
