The cable modem traffic jam

Article Abstract:

Broadband Internet access via cable modems are encountering traffic jams. Rapid acceptance of cable broadband services by consumers is cited as the main reason, but several specific bottleneck-causing circumstances are also identified. For example, a traffic jam can occur if a website is popular and is overwhelmed by too many users. A new technical standard called Docsis will be helpful. It provides various capabilities including quality of service (QoS), for prioritizing transmissions.
