The pallet loading problem: a survey

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to evaluate research on the pallet loading problem. The study considers a survey made on material handling as part of production and distribution systems. Results show that pallet applications for large quantities is considered an integral part of material handling. In addition, the problem of pallet packing may be further resolved by continued automation of distribution and production-oriented material handling.

A concurrent engineering decision model: management of the project activities information flows

Article Abstract:

A decision support model was formulated to address the problem of scheduling involving project activities. The model aims to improve information flows coordination and integration through identification of activities that requires concurrent scheduling. The model, which employs strategies classified under concurrent engineering, also determines measures associated with scheduling project activities.
