Treat your own career like a business

Article Abstract:

Engineers can boost their careers by treating them like a business. They should carefully manage their jobs like an owner manages a business. They should also create a personal board composed of peers and mentors who can give them valuable input on certain areas of their careers. They are also encouraged to write a mission and vision statement, invest in developing their skills, market themselves and become active in their organization.
