Two's a crowd

Article Abstract:

GE Lighting has carried out tests on a new lamp design, which it felt infringed a 17 year old patent of its best selling lamp. The 2PT lamp has been designed by PDT Corporation and GE claim it is a copy of its 2D flourescent energy saving lamp. GE's report includes claims that the 2PT is not compliant with European Commission standards and it does not last as long as PDT claim it does. Industry analysts suggest the only way to decide if the 2PT lamp is an infringement of GE's 2D is to have independent test carried out.
