Universities, corporations report progress in integrating total quality into curriculums

Article Abstract:

Participants to the Total Quality Management (TQM) University Challenge discussed their experience at the 4th annual Total Quality Forum held in Cincinnati, OH. The TQM University Challenge is a partnership between schools and business to see how TQM is applied in industry. It had its beginnings in 1991 when universities were invited to observe TQM at Motorola Inc. The program currently has five companies and eight universities as members. The companies held a one-week seminar on TQM for the universities in 1992. Lessons learned from the program would be incorporated into the curricula starting with the 1993 schoolyear.
