Value through quality

Article Abstract:

Certain facets of quality management should be monitored to sustain the quality revolution. Excellent product and service worth is achievable only by controls that maintain high value at an unobjectionable cost and employ technologies to improve production processes. Product development must be undertaken with constant regard for environmental impact. Production processes and the end-product itself must be progressively free of wastes dumped in the environment, for value is also measured by effects on future lives. Quality improvement programs can be developed by strengthening ties between industry and education in quality training.

The evolution of a QC guy

Article Abstract:

Quality professionals should not only initiate change and improvement, but also actively pursue it. The quality professional should learn from experience and help the organization pursue the quality transition. People are the key to the success of any quality mission. They need to be trained to solve product, process and auditing problems, and participate in quality planning. The typical life of a quality professional is used as an example of the role of training in solving quality-related problems.

Article Abstract:

US companies should address issues related to participative work, employee training and employment security to produce high quality goods and services. Companies must commit themselves to employment security and allow participation in the full range of decision making. Training in both skills and organizational terms should be emphasized to develop employees as the company's most important asset. Technology must be applied only to expand job quality and opportunity.
