Vibrations controlled actively

Article Abstract:

Machine designers have to ensure that the sensitive machine tools and equipments are protected from the vibrations caused during their operations and perform at optimum level. Active Isolation System developed by Bilz, a German firm, does not generate same heat or magnetic variation, which result from using linear motors or electromagnetic actuators making the system more useful for high performance of machines.

Keeping up with safety legislation

Machine builders and equipment manufacturers required to stay abreast with constantly changing legislation and standards regarding the safe design of machinery and their effect on business and customers. A number of UK suppliers, like British Automation and Robotics Association (BARA), are holding training courses and seminars in these areas to help these firms fulfill their obligations.

Bridging the safety awareness gap

Article Abstract:

Many machine builders choose to self-certify their equipment when it comes to machine safety legislation, standards and testing, however, this could prove costly. The testing part in Shropshire-based Cranage EMC, specialist mechanical and EMC test house, is usually carried out locally where the machine is made and is inadequate.
