Who wants to be a billionaire? U.S. electrical engineers saw record-breaking pay gains in 2000 -- but nothing like those handed out to CEOs

Article Abstract:

A survey by IEEE-USA reveals that median income for electrical engineers working full time in the U.S. was $93,100 early in 2001. With overtime and pension benefits, the median income was $99,000. Meanwhile, according to Business Week, a typical U.S. CEO received $13.1 million. The 20 highest-paid CEOs earned $117.6 million on average, up from $112.9 million in the previous year.
