The residual current operated devices (rcds) identify the erroneous currents flowing to earth which otherwise would not be identified with the help of fuses but could cause damage due to electric shock or fire. To check the proper functioning of these devices they must be tested by tripping time in milliseconds by encouraging a fault in the circuit.
