A multi-criteria targeting approach to neutral grassland conservation

Article Abstract:

A multi-criteria targeting approach to site conservation for two rare grassland types, based on an assessment of a suite of biotic and abiotic factors to evaluate the biodiversity status of grassland sites, are described. The environmentally sensitive area scheme, which is managed by Department for Environment, Farming, and Rural Affairs, was introduced in 1987 to protect countryside of high landscape, wildlife or historic value.

Modeling soil series data to facilitate targeted habitat restoration: a polytomous logistic regression approach

Article Abstract:

A good quality soil data is obtained that could be incorporated into geographical information systems along with topographical factors to facilitate the targeting of woodland to areas of high ecological value. It is concluded that a regression-based approach can be adopted to separate this map of soil association into a more utilizable output of soil series.
