Article Abstract:

The noisy miner, a significantly aggressive bird species, tends to reduce bird diversity in eucalypt forests by occupying territory from 65 to over 325 feet from the forest edge. Despite other smaller bird species being 20 to 25 times more abundant, noisy miners quickly exclude almost all potential competitors.

Testing predictions of the lake food web theory on pelagic communities of Australian reservoirs

Article Abstract:

Several predictions of the pelagic food web theory were tested on pelagic communities of eleven reservoirs in Eastern Australia. Many of these predictions remained strong in spite of substantial differences in animal taxonomy and physical environment of Australian ecosystems.
