The environmental movement may seem to be losing momentum, but 79% of people still call themselves environmentalists. Environmental groups are downsizing and renewing their focus on the grassroots level, and activists are optimistic about the future of the environmental movement.

Curbing recycling revisionists: refuting a bevy of critics, recycling advocates say curbside recycling makes economic sense

There is growing criticism of the economics of curbside recycling, but the criticisms use questionable figures and the side benefits to recycling are ignored. For example, Washington, DC, suspended its recycling program, and the suspension will cost the city $39,000 a month.
