Corridors for conservation: Integrating pattern and process

Article Abstract:

Resource selection functions can be used to describe habitat suitability with continuous and multivariable metrics. The processes of habitat selection and movement can be integrated with landscape features using least-cost paths, graph theory and step selection functions which offer new ways to design, implement and study corridors as landscape linkages more objectively and holistically.

Ecological effects of invasive arthropod generalist predators

Article Abstract:

Human activity is central in promoting invasion of arthropod generalist predators (AGP) and they have widespread and varied ecological impacts, many of which stem from displacement of similar native predators. Invasive AGP weakens or strengthens top-down control and they contribute to either invasional meltdown or to prevention of further damage from other invaders.
