Stakeholder preferences towards conservation versus development for a wetland in Sri Lanka

Article Abstract:

The importance of criteria in the management of wetland in Sri Lanka, with regards to whether they should be conserved for environmental benefits or for developmental activities is discussed. It is concluded that environmental activities are considerably more important than providing for development in the area as most of the stakeholders depend on the environment for their livelihood.
