Ecology and evolution of aphid-ant interactions

Article Abstract:

Aphid-ant interactions are used to illustrate the whole range of interactions from antagonistic to mutualistic and to identify the processes affecting the degree of association and in particular the context within which such interactions evolved. The constraints of establishing and maintaining beneficial interactions between aphids and ants are addressed from a cost-benefit perspective.

The role of hybridization in the evolution of reef corals

Article Abstract:

Study is conducted to review evidence that hybridization contributes to the evolution of reef corals, a group underpinning the coral reef ecosystem. It is believed that the outcomes of hybridization are significant for the future resilience of reef corals and warrant inclusion in conservation strategies.

The evolution of agriculture in insects

Article Abstract:

A study of the evolution of agriculture in insects is presented. Crop domestication in the context of coevolving and codomesticated microbial consortia might explain the 50-million year old agricultural success of insect farmers.
